Memory Wall
Collecting memories, stories, snippets and moments to make a sort of digital scrapbook with all the Heidi moments that friends and family are sending.
When I first moved to New York in 2011, Heidi was one of the first people I met. Friendly, fun, and proudly wearing a fanny-pack, Heidi was always ready to start a project or just talk about weird things. Through Heidi (and Bryan) I met so many amazing people, took in so many live shows, and really started to build a life in New York. Wandering the streets of Clinton Hill together with a shopping cart collecting junk to make art, drinking beer late at night in that backyard on Emerson Place, making up a plot for a play about a dinner party for human organs, running around MoMA obsessing over Cindy Sherman. Amazing moments of silliness with a truly original and beautiful human.

I knew Heidi back in Brisbane in the early 2000’s, we lived together for a while in this house that had a pool, in QLD for a bunch of poor twenty somethings, that’s like winning the lottery.
Heidi was a friend, and a rad chick to party with, we ate many shitty foods hungover, op shopped, partied lots and made many drunken mistakes and memories. She loved Sex & The City, I think it fed her dreams of moving to New York and she inspired me to fall deeper in love with music, I’ll always be grateful for that.

Heidi, you were one of the first people to believe in me and my career - you gave me opportunities to learn, grow, challenge myself, and most importantly see my worth by TRUSTING myself. You’re the reason I was able to get a full time job in artist management and move to New York, which has changed my life.
You were so exuberant and full of love, but you also did not put up with any shit. You were so passionate about empowering women to excel in their careers and otherwise. I adored conversations with you. I’ve missed them the last couple years since I’ve seen you, and I’m so sad about all the conversations we’ll never have.
You and your beloved Bryan’s love was so inspiring and will continue to live on in the people you’ve touched for lifetimes. Thank you for being you, Heidi. I’m so grateful to have loved and been loved by you. Rest so well, darling friend. I’ll love and miss your forever.

I feel so fortunate to have worked with Heidi. She made some of the harder parts of music business fun and brought energy and care to every interaction. Truly a light.
- Laura Gibson
You two came along at a pivotal moment in my life, when I really needed the kind of encouragement—and love!—you two showed me. You helped me get excited about my own music again, and were so supportive and ever-present and wonderful. I may have ultimately ended the Arms project, but you two helped co-create its final chapter, and the two releases I made through Paper Garden were the best coda I could have hoped for.
I vividly remember going out for drinks with your two at Splitty in Clinton Hill. It was early in our partnership, and I was feeling insecure about returning to music. Heidi held my hands and said "you ARE an artist." And it brought tears to my eyes! She had the power to speak to people so deeply and directly—she touched my heart, and I really felt it. It helped me get back on my musical feet again, it gave me the energy to make some of the best music of my life. I will never forget that, and I will be forever grateful.
Heidi was an absolute force of love and kindness and music and creativity. You were both so lucky to have each other. I feel lucky to have crossed paths with you both.

Heidi was one of the first friends I made in NYC back in 2008 and ended up introducing me to some people who I'm still friends with to this day. We shared many smoke breaks (American Spirits to be exact haha) on the roof of the MuseBox where we worked when it was located down in the financial district. As a fellow expat, we connected quickly and deeply. Many laughs were had, secrets were told, spirits were lifted. You will be so missed, old friend. xoxo

Rest in peace Heidi, you bright light 💎

Far too soon for a beam of light such as Heidi. In my first years with Surfer Blood, she was a guide to me & a true friend. An unparalleled cheerleader. She kept me sane at times when bro energy was peaking. The time we shared in Brazil I will cherish forever 💘💘💘💘💘💘

Where ever we were or whatever we were doing, be it; Stoop hangs in Montreal, gasbagging in bed for hours, debating and loving varied music , kitchen dance parties, the pang in our hearts when we heard magpies over the radio while homesick in Montreal, bike adventures or photoshoots for a lol…it was a delight. Heidi was a delight. I’ll always have a special spot in my heart for Heidi memories And mind when listening to Echo and the Bunnymen or Cher.

I’ll never forget the kindness Heidi and you showed me on the night we met, in your old apt in Clinton Hill. I was stranded because my host buddy fell asleep, and David asked if I could crash on the sofa, which turned into an entire weekend of good times. Fast forward a decade later, and I look back at the amount of friendships I’ve made along the way, thanks to you both.
